Antoine Griezman was born in Macon, France, on the 21st of March, 1991, to Alan Griezman and Isabelle Griezman. In order to pursue to his career in football, Antoine Griezman started going for trials in the various youth academies that were present at that time, but time and again he was rejected, owing to his size. He later caught the attention of Spanish scouts from Real Sociedad, when he played for Montpellier Hérault Sport Club in a match against Paris Saint German, with his stunning display. After the match ended, the scouts from Real Sociedad offered him a seven days trial at the club which he grabbed with both hands.

At the end of the trial, Griezman was offered a youth contract through to travel with the scouts to Spain to join the Spanish club youth academy. He began his professional career in 2009 at Real Sociedad where he was attending school during the day and then trained in the evening after returning from school. Griezman went on to become a regular starter for the club, and his outstanding performances wasted no time in catching the attention of fellow Spanish rivals, Atletico Madrid. He made a total of 180 appearances, scoring 89 goals for the club.

Atlectico Madrid succeeded in acquiring the services of the prolific forward in 2014 at a record fee of £26 million.
